The opening of the second edition of Nefzawa City event for 2025.

Under the slogan “Innovating for a Sustainable Future in the Sectors of Media, Culture, Technology, and Entrepreneurship,” Nefzawa groupment inaugurated the second edition of Nefzawa City event on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, at the Higher Institute of Technological Studies in Kebili. The event was attended by representatives from state institutions, regional administrations, public bodies, civil society organizations, and international organizations.

In his opening speech, Fahmi Blidaoui, Director of Nefzawa groupment, emphasized that this event serves as an opportunity to bring together all those interested in comprehensive and equitable development. He highlighted Nefzawa’s commitment, over the past 14 years, to promoting the region and supporting all its sons and daughters.

Fahmi Blidaoui stated that this edition was chosen to be a space for supporting investment through the sectors of media, culture, and entrepreneurship, as well as the exhibition, which welcomed more than 350 exhibitors from all governorates of the country.

Blidaoui mentions that the launch of the first global network for media and sustainable development, coinciding with the celebration of World Radio Day on February 13th, organized by UNESCO this year under the theme “Radio and Climate Change.” He also announced the launch of a national network for women cooperatives active in promoting local products.

For the second consecutive time, Kebili Governorate transformed into a digitally smart city, where the sectors of entrepreneurship, media, culture, and technology were integrated into a single space. Competitions were also organized for students from the Higher Institutes of Technological Studies, as well as for students and youth from various parts of the country.

This second edition aimed to enhance the successes achieved in the previous edition, such as the “AI Media Lab “ for communication and journalism, the “Content Production Using Artificial Intelligence Lab”, and the “Think Tank Lab” which brings together experts from various fields.

This event gathered over 3,000 participants from various incubating institutions, public and private entities, civil society organizations, and national and international organizations, in addition to more than 50 journalists from local, national, and international media outlets.

Through this edition, Nefzawa Groupment aims to establish this event as an important driver in the development of Kebili Governorate, making it a technological, media, cultural, and entrepreneurial hub at both the national and regional levels, while also highlighting the potential and capabilities of the region’s youth in innovating projects across various fields.
