“Innovating for a sustainable future in the sectors of media, culture, technology, and entrepreneurship”
Nefzawa Foundation is excited to announce the second edition of the “Nefzawa City” event, set to take place on February 13 and 14, 2025, in Kebili. This year’s edition will focus on the theme “Innovating for a sustainable future in the sectors of media, culture, technology, and entrepreneurship”
For the second consecutive time, the city of Nefzawa will transform into a digitally smart city, bringing together the fields of entrepreneurship, media, and culture in one unified space. Competitions will be held for students from the Higher Institutes of Technological Studies in the southern governorates, as well as for schoolchildren and youth from across the Kebili governorate.
Building on the success of the first edition, this event will feature initiatives such as the “AI Media Lab for Communication and Journalism,” the “Content Production Lab Utilizing Artificial Intelligence,” and the “Think Tank Lab,” which will bring together experts from various fields to drive forward innovation.
The event will bring together over 3,000 participants from a variety of incubator institutions, public and private organizations, civil society, and national and international organizations. Additionally, it will host more than 50 journalists from local, national, and international media outlets.
In conjunction with World Radio Day on February 13, the event will offer a series of conferences, workshops, and discussions focused on this theme. These activities will coincide with UNESCO’s 2025 celebration under the theme “Radio and Climate Change.”
During the event, two major initiatives will be launched:
- The first global network for media and sustainable development
- A national network for women’s cooperatives actively promoting local products.
These initiatives are aligned with Nefzawa’s mission to empower rural communities and foster innovative contributions.
Through this edition, Nefzawa Foundation aims to position the event as a key driver for the development of Kebili, establishing it as a technological, media, cultural, and entrepreneurial hub at both the national and regional levels. The event will also highlight the potential and talents of the region’s youth in creating innovative projects across various fields.
